I’ve been training a handful of sport including but not limited to: CrossFit, Powerlifting, Long-distance Running, Swimming, etc. for around 15 to 16 years.
In that time, I’ve been able to finish in the top 3% in the 2024 CrossFit Open/Quarterfinals, run a 5:13 mile, compete in a regional 6A Texas High School Powerlifting meet with a 1345 total in the 181 weight class, etc. I played all the sports growing up, football, track and field, baseball, swim, and recently have taken up golf.
When I was younger, I had L3, L4, and L5 disc herniations to which my doctor told me to never lift weights again. Since then, with the help of doctors, physical therapists, and coaches, I’ve been able to start from scratch and focus on proper lifting mechanics and longevity in training. I’ve been lucky enough to have built a strong base and recover from those injuries and it has made me the strongest I’ve ever been.
My passion and motivation is simply the love I have for movement and strength. Of course, getting stronger, faster, fitter, and overall healthier are all very important to me, however the most important thing is that it gives me and others an easier chance at trying new things in life.
For example, from gaining the strength and fitness to hike up a mountain, being able to travel/walk around in a new city, to even just gaining the strength to pick yourself out of bed easier are why I love training and coaching.
